#2020: When my son was 20 months old, he had been to 20 countries.
#3030: When my son was 30 months old, he had been to 30 countries.
#4040: My son visited his 40th country on my 40th birthday!
#4545: At the age of 4.5 he visited his 45th country.
#555: By his 5th birthday he had traveled to 55 countries.
#0660: By the time he had turned 6 he had been to 60 countries

Thanks to my parents I have been traveling since I was a baby. First we explored different places together and as I got older I embarked on my own adventures around the world. With so many stories to tell, I have managed to put some of them into writing.
In 2011 I published my first book in German on 8 years of traveling the world as a language teacher.

A few years later I wrote a 2nd ebook in German on my working life in the Sultanate of Oman.

One of the many things that fascinated me in the Middle East was the desert. Driving over the highest dunes and spending many nights in silence under the stars…an adventure not to be missed.
“Nah Dran”, a German magazine published an article on my 6 month overland Germany from my hometown Icking, in the South of Munich to India. Amazing how far you get, if you just keep changing trains! One leg of this journey brought me to Tibet, just as the conflict was erupting there again after many years of peace. As hardly any journalists were allowed in at the time before the Olympics in China, I was reporting to Germany on my experiences there.
One of the most beautiful and hospitable countries to visit is Iran. Their perceptions about the West are just as messed up as ours about them. Fortunately, we could exchange views and get to understand each other on this incredible and inspiring roadtrip.
“Nah Dran” also published an article on our trip through the Caucasus in May 2016.
